The roots of Dewenter Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG date back to 1932, when Albin Dewenter laid the foundation for the family business in Natzungen, Westphalia — at that time still as a small masonry company. Just one year later, the company relocated to Stormsdorf near Rostock. After the Second World War, Eduard Dewenter resumed operations in Tarnewitz and expanded the business to include civil engineering.
The family business successfully navigated challenging times. In 1972, the company was transferred to VEB Tief- und Meliorationsbau Wismar Land. Despite the expropriation, Eduard Dewenter remained involved in the company as operations manager, preserving his expertise and influence. With German reunification — exactly 18 years after the expropriation — the company returned to family ownership, marking a milestone that laid the foundation for today’s success story. From 2001 to 2025, the fourth generation led the company with vision and a strong spirit.
Today, Dewenter Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized, forward-looking company that has been setting standards in civil engineering, pipeline construction, sewer construction, and road construction across northern Germany for decades. Our goal is to secure a leading position in the market while continuing to expand our range of services in a consistent and future-oriented way.
